What is social value?
Social value is about understanding the relative importance that people place on changes to their wellbeing, and using the insights we gain from this to make better decisions.
By taking relative importance into account we can ensure that the decisions we make focus on what is valuable to people, and through this we can increase the positive and reduce the negatives effects of our work, and ultimately increase the overall value of our activities.

Be part of our Global Network
Social Value International’s Global Network, consisting of 26 national and regional networks, is made up of independent and locally led organisations working at the forefront of social value and impact management.
Social Value International works in partnership with these local networks to promote The Principles of Social Value, refine and share practice, and to build a powerful movement for change.
We work together to build a movement locally and globally, where organisations and individuals have the skills and ability to account for a broader definition of value and protect people and the planet.
Supporting the SDGs
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) challenge all governments, organisations and investors to measure and manage their impact on people and the planet – positive and negative, intended and unintended.
The Goals provide a common ground for our global community to achieve a shared vision of sustainable development by 2030.
The standard setting and advocacy work of Social Value International and our Global Network supports individuals and organisations to measure and manage impact that can in turn improve performance against the SDGs.
Social Value International has also partnered with the UNDP and SDG Impact to support the adoption of the SDG Impact Standards globally.
