Announcing Sarape Social as Social Value Pioneers

Social Value International is proud to announce Sarape Social as Social Value Pioneers!

Sarape Social are an agency that uses the power of creativity, innovation and local knowledge to solve social and environmental issues. Their projects and communication campaigns drive social change, are sustainable and replicable, since they are based on their own intervention methodology: Sarape Social use local knowledge, communities’ creativity and technology to co-create particip participatory processes that generate innovative solutions to complex problems.

What is your organisation’s background in SROI/social value measurement, if any?

We have a 10-year experience developing social intervention projects and social communication campaigns; each one of these has its own evaluation process, which helps us determine with certainty the significative changes our presence might trigger in the social transformation of environments and communities. We have used different tools and methodologies to accomplish this according to the specific needs of each project and campaign, although, our recent growth has taken us to explore new evaluation tools towards the value that could enhance the impact of our social actions.

Are there any specific projects you are doing at the moment that are related to SROI/social value?

Voces de Tequila. Cultural tourism, heritage and local economies boost. Since 2016 we have been working alongside Fundación Beckmann developing different strategies to share the heritage and touristic richness that characterizes Tequila, Jalisco, one of the most important regions in Western Mexico. In collaboration with this foundation, we designed the initiative Voces de Tequila based on the principles of Creative Tourism. Among its main objectives is to position Tequila as a Heritage City by promoting its cultural riches, as well as the practices around Creative Economy to develop a model of integral and sustainable growth through collaboration between social, cultural and economic actors.

What do you hope to gain from joining?

At Sarape Social, we are committed to forming alliances with other organizations and actors with whom we share purposes and values, to exchange and build knowledge; we consider the Network as an opportunity to achieve this in a global level. Also, we envision a chance to enrich our own methodologies and practices regarding social value and its process of evaluation.

We couldn’t be more excited to be joining the Network and sharing our commitment to building a better world through social transformation and collaborating on changing the vision on how we account for value.
