Have your say on the future of SVI’s standards
Social Value International (SVI) has launched a public consultation on its Standards for Applying the Principles of Social Value. This essential resource sets the framework for applying all eight Principles, reflecting best practices in impact management, social return on investment (SROI), and social value accounting.
The content is now in its final stages, presenting SVI’s members and wider community with this final opportunity to provide feedback before the Standards are formally published in early 2026. The deadline for contributions is 30th April 2025.
With the Standards entering its final stages of development, SVI is evolving its approach. The focus is shifting from developing new content to reviewing and refining guidance, case studies, and best practices from across the global community. As part of this transition, SVI is replacing the Methodology Sub-Committee with a newly established Standards Committee.
This new body will comprise 16 experienced Level 2 and Level 3 Accredited Practitioners, representing key regions where SVI operates. The Committee will oversee the application of SVI Standards across three critical areas:
Developing methodologies to support the application of the Standards
Enhancing training and professional pathways for practitioners
Supporting assurance and accreditation to maintain high standards of practice
This voluntary position is estimated to take up to five working days a year for Members of the Standards Committee. SVI encourages all interested Level 2 and 3 Practitioners, as well as Members of the Methodology Sub-Committee, to apply before 17th April 2025.
