Social Value Practitioner Spotlight

Social Value Practitioner Spotlight with Hugo Minney

Welcome to the Social Value Practitioner Spotlight, where we highlight the important work of our members and accredited practitioners around the world to share their experiences in the realm of Social Return on Investment (SROI), Social Value and social impact reporting. This event is a showcase of the diverse and impactful work undertaken by our practitioners, providing insight into their projects, challenges faced, and lessons learned along the way. It also provides a great example of how the SVI Professional Pathway can elevate your career in social value.

For our very first session of the series on 29 February 10 am GMT 2023, we are delighted to co-host this session with Social Value UK and invite Hugo Minney to share his experience as a Social Value Level 3 Advanced Practitioner.

Hugo Minney, PhD is a Social Value Level 3 Advanced Practitioner and has been working in the social value field for 12 years. He is also a Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) and Chartered Manager (CMgr). His day job is as a benefits management Subject Matter Expert, supporting organisations to achieve their strategic objectives through aligning and prioritising their investment for change, and he’s chair and lead author of the British Standards Institute panel maintaining the British Standard on Benefits Management, which was published in May 2023 following extensive public comment.

Using the framework and process of Social Value for benefits management, Hugo engages the partners, funders and beneficiaries of each project to clarify and quantify the change, the attribution, and the financial value of the return on investment.

Hugo will be speaking on the importance of standardization and accreditation, especially when applying Social Value. He will also share his experience on how he has applied social value in other areas of his work in sustainability, including carbon footprints.

Please note: This session is open to SVI & SV UK (& other SVI Joint Member Network) members ONLY
